Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 April 2026
James Gomez (trading as jgdev.co.uk) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how I collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use my website and services.
1. Information I collect
When you fill out the contact form on my website, I collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- The service tier you select (Starter Website, Web App, or Advanced Systems)
- Your message / project details
If you choose to pay a deposit via Stripe, I do not store your payment card details – those are handled directly by Stripe, a secure payment processor.
2. How I use your information
I use your information solely to:
- Respond to your enquiry and discuss potential projects
- Send you an auto‑reply acknowledging receipt of your message
- Process deposits if you decide to proceed (via Stripe)
I do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Third‑party services
I use the following trusted third‑party services to operate my website and handle enquiries:
- Resend – to send enquiry emails and auto‑replies. Resend’s privacy policy
- Stripe – to process deposit payments. Stripe’s privacy policy
- Vercel – to host my website. Vercel’s privacy policy
Each of these services is GDPR‑compliant and processes data only on my behalf.
4. Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)
I process your personal information under the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests – to respond to enquiries and communicate with potential clients.
- Contractual necessity – when you pay a deposit, I process your information to complete that transaction.
- Consent – where you have given clear consent for a specific purpose (e.g., storing your data for follow‑up).
5. Data retention
I keep enquiry data for up to 12 months from the last contact, after which it is securely deleted. If a project proceeds, I retain information for the duration of our working relationship plus any legal or accounting obligations (typically 6 years for financial records).
6. Data security
I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including using HTTPS, secure environment variables, and access controls. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure, so you use my website at your own risk.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data (subject to legal obligations)
- Restrict or object to processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time (where applicable)
To exercise any of these rights, contact me at olajameze.jg@googlemail.com. I will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies
My website does not use tracking cookies for analytics or marketing. However, Vercel may set essential cookies for performance and security. No consent banner is required for strictly necessary cookies. If I add analytics in the future, I will implement a cookie consent banner.
9. Changes to this policy
I may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
